As guest speaker for this year’s Food Stock, Battersea Park’s annual food festival, I decided to focus my talks and cooking demonstrations around the ethos for Feast: family nutrition.
My two cooking demonstrations laid out the surprisingly easy steps to make your own fresh pasta and pesto. I was joined on stage by two willing audience members, neither of whom had ever made pasta from scratch and swore by jarred pesto.
Needles to say, they were both pretty proud of their efforts and ate every morsel of their work!
The audience were pleasantly surprised by the ease of making pasta, so I hope many of them will try it themselves at home.
Following my demonstrations over the weekend, I also gave lectures on ‘Toddlers: the Fussy Eating Phase’.
I so enjoy dispelling much of the fear that parents and carers often have surrounding this topic – it’s like a ‘lightbulb moment’ when you see the audience begin to understand WHY most toddlers go through such a phase.
We had some very productive Q&A sessions during each lecture with parents, carers and even siblings asking some fantastic questions.
If this is a topic that you as a parent/carer would like some support on, then please have a look at my ‘Services’ page for more information on group or 1:1 fussy eating sessions.
